Page 115 Notes
· The Statue of Liberty‘s significance was never predicted by it’s original designers.
· The statue is made up of two separate buildings not integrated in any visual way.
· One is a self-supporting engineering structure designed by Eiffel.
· The other is a totally invertebrate skin designed by Bartholdi.

Page 128 and 129 Notes
· Has an external copper skin.
· It’s skin has ribs that respond to wind, heat, or cold.
· Concealing has consequences. Defects could not be easily noticed, because the exterior skin was covering them.
· Due to many mistakes, the arm and torch was out of use for the beginning of the 1900’s.
